FAQ
Mo-La / TZM FAQ
Selection and fabrication of high-temperature furnace materials should be evaluated according to actual operating conditions, drawings and service requirements.
What is the difference between Mo-La and TZM, and how should they be selected?
Mo-La emphasizes high-temperature dimensional stability and creep resistance and is commonly used for furnace trays, sintering boxes, boats and fixtures. TZM is a Ti-Zr-C strengthened molybdenum alloy suited to components requiring higher mechanical strength and load-bearing capability at elevated temperature. Final selection should consider working temperature, furnace atmosphere, load, thermal cycling, dimensions and structure.
What sizes of trays, molybdenum boxes or boats can be made?
Custom production can be evaluated for different dimensions, thicknesses, hole patterns, structures and service conditions. Please provide drawings or specifications so MAOXU can confirm feasible dimensions and processing methods.
Can bending, holes and assembled structures be made to drawing?
Bending, hole-making, assembly and other processing methods can be evaluated according to drawings, material, thickness, dimensions, tolerances and structural requirements. The final manufacturing method is confirmed according to part design and service conditions.
What temperature can Mo-La / TZM be used at?
A single maximum-temperature number should not be used to determine suitability. Actual service temperature and life depend on grade, furnace atmosphere, load, component dimensions and structure, heating/cooling rate and thermal-cycle count; material and structure should be evaluated for the real operating conditions.
Are Mo-La / TZM suitable for vacuum, sintering or heat-treatment furnaces?
Mo-La and TZM can be used for trays, sintering boxes, boats and furnace fixtures in vacuum, high-temperature sintering and heat-treatment equipment. Actual suitability should still be confirmed against furnace atmosphere, working temperature, load and process conditions.
What information is needed for a quotation?
Please provide the product drawing, dimensions and thickness, quantity, material requirement, working temperature, furnace atmosphere, load, thermal cycle or service cycle, plus required tolerances, surface and inspection requirements. More complete information enables a more accurate Mo-La / TZM material and manufacturing evaluation.
